Weekly Links from the Wide World of Internets!

Just finished reading The Catcher in the Rye for the first time. I firmly believe this is a book you need to read as a teenager to fully get. I was most unimpressed over here in my 30's.  Have you read it? What do you think?

We are potty training, bribing Bliss with marshmallows. We are the best parents.

I feel like I've turned a corner in my health. I'm not interested in exercise per se. I just want to make sure I move my body, use it for what's it for. I've been doing a lot of yoga and taking the girls for walks at the many trails we have here in Austin. And I just feel really good.

How's your week been?

On to the linkage!

This is a little last week or so but does Twitter need a report abuse button for hostile tweets?

What's in Prince's fridge. For real. Lots of mustard apparently.

Watch this. Have tissues for happy tears ready.

How to talk to your daughter about her body. Best. Parenting. Advice. Seriously, my favorite is to teach her how to cook kale, but also teach her how to make a cake with five sticks of butter. Beautiful!

Misogynist trolls aren't just being funny, they have an agenda.

What have you got for me? Lay it down in the comments!

A Letter of Gratitude To Sugarpants

I am really working on being grateful for the little things in life. Umbrellas when it rains, creamer at work for my coffee, clean underwear. Small things. But I also want to acknowledge adn be thankful for the really big things. Like my husband who makes sure I don't shake apart and whirl off into the dirt. And if I do he picks me up and dusts me off.

Dear Sugarpants,

This is my public declaration of how incredibly grateful I am for you in my life. Thank you for taking a risk on me. After being hurt, being open to someone new and most importantly the risk of letting me into Peanut Butter's little life. Thank you for knocking me up. Twice! Our three girls are the world to me and I can't imagine my life without them. Even when they are screaming and tantruming over the computer. (Like right now.)

Thank you for being my partner in all things. For always backing me up even when I make dumb decisions like to quit a job without one lined up. And supporting me when I sigh aggressively at a customer and get fired.

Thank you for accepting me back in your life after making the stupidest decision I have ever made. Thank you for working through it with me and being patient.

Basically I am saying I am obviously a huge pain in the ass and super high maintenance. Thanks for doing it  with only limited grumbling and muttering. (All well earned)

Thank you for the everyday things, like kisses, cleaning, paying the bills, working for us, parenting, smiles, laughs. Everything you do I am so very very grateful and I can not tell you enough.

You are beautiful, hairy, smart, hilarious and all mine.

Thank you x a million.

Love,

Anastasia (who doesn't have a fun nickname)

Who or what (sometimes I am grateful for things like coffee and can wax poetic about that too) are you grateful for? Let them know!

Sweet Weekly Link Spam. So tasty.

I am off on vacation as of 9am this morning. Going to the coast to spend the week swimming with the girls and laying around reading. Or that's the plan anyway. It can't come soon enough, I have this awful work anxiety lately. And for no apparent reason either. Stupid evolution. There is no danger here brain!

On to the Internet...

Things I Love Thursday

It's time to remind myself what I love and what I am grateful for. It's such a great thing to do, stop and remind yourself that amidst all the bad there is always some good. When I was little I read all the Little House books and the one thing that stuck with me (besides remembering to always put sugar in your rhubarb pie) was when Laura's mom said "Every cloud has a silver lining." It really is true.

So here's my silver lining today!

Getting to see my amazing family ♥ as usual the health and wellness of my friends and family ♥ my job and it's work in the community ♥ my home and vehicle ♥ the fact that I live two blocks from my kids school and my job ♥ the hubbies new job at Wheatsville, it's a co-op that sells local and organic food and we have been eating so much better thanks to it ♥ Jillian Micheals (it's a love/hate kind of thing ♥ The weird Fizgig noise Bliss discovered she can make (my phone is dead so I can't record it yet!) ♥ Discovering new movies and old favorites (Netflix and VUDU are kind of my life) Galaxy Quest and Liar Liar for the funnies!

The little heart thingie on my keyboard stopped working. Just in time, I think that's a pretty decent list.

What do you love/are grateful for this week?

What are you loving today?
